I'll freely admit that as someone who is neither black nor from an area that was not predominantly white, it's entirely possible that my phrasing in this series is slightly problematic. Another explanation is that after having her Caucasian blood held against her by her family (and the Beyond Project), Max pushed back by refusing to self-identify with it. Regarding her mother's husband, I assumed based on her haircut and vivid dye job that it was her hair rather than her skin that gave her mixed blood away. It's also possible he was a judgmental ass.

I'm using my time-travel powers for good! Seriously though, "date out of order" is a glorious thing. I like having one entry a day, and I like having all my TOC in one place where they won't get lost in the sea of ficlets.

*checks list, digs through folder* ...I do have two more pieces written. I'll try to get them up this week. Sheesh, I need to make a list.
