I knew the instant my third child would live.

Illidan had slipped out of bed, laying a kiss on my temple and grinning as he tucked the blanket back in while I wriggled closer to Broll’s warmth. His affection was a warm burr in the back of my mind and, drowsing, I watched the echoes of his sight as he skipped lightly downstairs to make breakfast. Idly, my sleepy thoughts drifted to the muscular body mine was half-draped on. Suddenly, the tiny spark of borrowed life inside me flickered. I live, that flicker said. Like a trembling flame clinging to a twig, stretching out for the tinder just out of reach, it yearned to be fed. That fire flared into a familiar burning in my loins. Although we’d shared bed and bath and home over the last three months and were more than comfortable with each other’s bodies, Broll and I hadn’t been intimate since that first night. The memory of him inside me made me burn even hotter, and without thinking I reached out to see if he had evening wood.

He did.

Scrambling a bit, unused to his broader hips and more massive thighs, I wasted no time in sheathing him inside me, groaning in relief as his girth eased some of my frantic need. More than half asleep, he moaned as my hot flesh surrounded his, hands instinctively going to my hips, urging me further down. I leaned forward and braced myself on his muscular chest, working him deeper and deeper, until with a shudder I felt him fill me entirely. Driven by that hunger, I began riding him with brutal efficiency. His pleasure, not mine, was the goal. The fact that my rough thrusts felt nearly as good to me as they did to him was just a bonus, and as he cried out and filled me with his seed, I shook in the grip of my own climax and felt my core tremble as it milked him.

“Ohhhhhhh.” Slightly dazed, Broll struggled vainly to sit up and look at me where I lay sprawled on him. “Mmmm. Seed’s taken root, huh?”

“Mmmmm.”

“Any hints yet?”

Lazily, I contemplated that tiny flame flickering as it greedily devoured its father’s life-energy. “Nothing yet. Give it a few days.”

“We did this. We really did this.” Suddenly exultant, he held me crushingly tight. “Kayne, thank you. I know you’re doing it as much for you as for me, but thank you.”

I laughed breathlessly. “Wait a few months and see if you’re as grateful when I’ve got you on your back five times a day.”

Awkwardly, he kissed my forehead. “It’s for the child, how could I not be grateful?” His hands slid down to my hips. “Well, if our unborn child has finished its breakfast, we should get ours.”

“Mmmm.” I stretched, the motion borrowed from my nightsaber form, all arched back and stiff elbows, and flowed into fur and paws as I poured out onto the floor. Once there I stretched again and stood up into my own body before grabbing a robe. “Let’s go see what my brother-buck’s made for us today.”

Lazily, we tromped down to the kitchen where Illidan greeted me with a one-armed hug and a kiss on the forehead.

“Seed took root, I see,” he said calmly. “You almost took me by surprise. That’s for Kayne,” he added as Broll reached for the bowl of porridge with nuts and dried berries.

I wrinkled my nose at him. “Porridge?”

Night-blue eyebrows arched. “I said ‘almost’. I caught it.”

My cheeks warmed. “Oh.”

Illidan handed me a spoon. “Eat. I refuse to let it go to waste.”

“What am I missing?” Broll asked as I sat and began to eat.

“She really enjoyed herself,” he answered dryly. “So much so that I barely got my robe out of the way and groped for the first thing at hand to catch my seed in. This should hold her until dinner, at least. Greedy thing,” he added with a teasing grin.

I made a face at him, still devouring that familiarly delicious porridge.

“Kayne, you know what’s in there and you’re still eating it?”

“He’s right, it shouldn’t go to waste. After two children, he knows what’s coming as much as I do, and…” I wrinkled my nose and scooped up the last bite. “I do remember that it’s more appealing when it’s fresh.”

“I don’t think Broll’s quite ready for you drinking it at the table, sister-doe.”

Broll choked. “Drinking…”

“That’s mostly after the baby is born,” I reassured him.

“I see.” He looked a little sad. “That’s why I didn’t know about it. She’ll really…?” he asked Illidan.

“The hard part is getting her to eat real food again.” Illidan shot me a mock-glare as he served the rest of the meal. “I found that the best way to do that was to take what her body wanted, and put it in what her body needed. I expect I’ll have to pull her off of you a few times,” he said critically. “When it’s just me, she knows that it will take longer for me to reload than it will to just eat, but with you there…”

Broll nearly choked on a bite of porridge.

“Yes,” I sighed. “I’ll probably be trying to suck you off in the evenings. I’ll need the extra life-energy to make milk for the baby.”

“I’m sorry,” Broll said, pushing aside his plate. “I’m still a bit used to thinking of you as some untouchable, legendary figure. The idea of you so enthusiastically…” He flushed.

I grimaced. “By that time, you’ll probably be completely jaded to me lunging frantically for your manhood.”

“This baby is going to be incredibly well-fed,” Illidan teased.

Inside me, a tiny flame flickered and fed on the gift of life-energy

I live. I live.
