So, this is my writing journal. I have sometimes-random muses who like to go off onto little AUs or just try to fill in the blanks, so for the most part, what you will find here are snippets or scenes, disconnected from any larger narrative. Sometimes, a muse will stick around for a while and be vocal and in those cases, there will be longer narratives. This entry will serve as a table of contents or signpost of sorts, and will be updated to reflect new entries.

Some of this stuff has been posted to my fanfiction.net or Ao3 profile under the name Ryxl. There's some on Ao3 that you won't find here because I wrote it for someone else, rather than having my own muses nag at me. Most of it has not been posted anywhere else, partially because I'm lazy, but I'm also rather self-conscious of posting the more random or AU stuff. Let that serve as a general warning: I make no claims that anything here will strictly adhere to its canon. Discussion and questions are welcome; telling me I'm wrong is not. If you want to know why I've deviated from canon, just ask. I'd be more than happy to talk about it at length.

X-MEN: EVOLUTION

There are a couple of AUs I write for. The first is called Tariverse, because in that version of things, Taretha said yes instead of no and left with Thrall, and lived. All entries are first person from Taretha's point of view and will be listed chronologically to the best of my ability.

The second is called Ryxlverse, because it spawned from the backstory of my main in World of Warcraft. Ryxlverse follows canon mostly up until the assault of Icecrown Citadel, where it makes a hard left turn into AU. The altered events delay the Cataclysm by about twenty years, so by the time Deathwing makes his move, the world is much better prepared to handle things. Vaala, with full permission from Odeena, has been imported from SoS-verse and become a naturalized resident of Ryxlverse.

Entries may be in first or third person, and from the point of view of any of the following: Kalika Ironheart, Ryxl Ironheart, Jentessa, Azureon, Illidan Stormrage, Malfurion Stormrage, Tyrande Whisperwind, Mikanna, Kael'thas Sunstrider, Vaala Dawnstrike. Entries have been separated into the time periods in which they take place, and sorted roughly into chronological order. Ones marked with ~!~ are not new, but have been separated from a larger entry or had their names changed.

This is an AU of Ryxlverse. In this little AU, Tessa went back in time to free Illidan before he'd suffered more than a year of his imprisonment, then brought him forward to the Third War. It's considerably fluffier than its parent-verse.

I am apparently a breeding ground for alternate universes, because I incubated a crack highschool AU for a few weeks and then this came bleeding out to the tune of 5k words in two days with new entries being bled out daily, it seemed. The bleeding seems to have stopped for now, but ask a question or toss me a scenario and it may start again. All entries in chronological order.

EMBERVERSE
This one was inspired by Kyn's fanfic MahiMahi, and she has graciously allowed me to post it and show you all how ear-gnawingly adorable Ember is. It was published between 3/05 and 3/07, so there's a lot of lore it doesn't take into account, but the worldbuilding is solid and the characters are well-developed and well-handled. It burrowed into my head and incubated and then I started writing at AU version of it focusing on Illidan. Mostly it's just tightening things up, fine-tuning relationships, sort of maturing the story. Once events reach the end of MahiMahi, however, it veers off sharply because my brain took Zul'vii and Ember and Illidan and went 'wow, that has a lot of potential, but what happens if we do this instead of that?'. All entries are listed in chronological order.

KAYNEVERSE
This one spawned, of all things, from looking at a picture of a century-plus-old white pine bonsai. The central theme seems to be "Can Illidan be fixed such that he doesn't become half demon?" and the answer is yes - but not easily, and it veers widely away from canon. Most entries are from Ellekayne's point of view, in chronological order. I thought about doing a brief summary of how the timeline changed at some point, night elf culture, things like that...but it turned into a herd of teal deer. If I missed something or skimped somewhere, comment and I'll TL;DR some more.

ILLIDORMI **
I have no explanation for why this exists. It starts with prepubescent Illidan talking to Murozond and ends with WTF is wrong with me. Read at your own risk. Genderplay, speciesplay, questionable masturbation habits, possible dubcon. Oh, and Stormrage twins being precious babies.

KITTIDAN
I'm not sure where this one came from, either. The Illidan from a timeline where the default shape of sentient life is feline rather than humanoid is transplanted into another one, for reasons only the Timeless One knows. Gotta love things that you start writing and have no idea where they're going, right?

SOLAVERSE
Having random thoughts is bad for me. I wondered what would happen in a timeline where Illidan wasn't content to sit in his cell indefinitely, and instead, busted himself out. Then 'Going Under' came on the radio, I remembered my second ex, and this happened. Vaala has once again been imported with permission. Warnings for an Illidan with a healthy psyche and a Malfurion who is a douchenugget.

( SOLAVERSE )

Saiyuki was not my first "real" fandom, but it was the first canon to supply me with a muse willing to talk, and Hakkai taught me about emotional torment and the sweet pain of breaking, only to rebuild oneself as something stronger. You will find no yaoi here...yet. Hakkai has way too many self-worth issues, Sanzo's libido carries a sign that reads 'Help help, I'm being repressed!', and Gojyo is hyper-sensitive about going where he's not wanted. For those that are curious however, the Sanzo in this timeline is straight and does eventually meet a spirited priestess that he settles down and has a son with. Goku is uninterested, Gojyo is mostly straight but will take affection where he can get it, and Hakkai loved Kanan so much that he could never love another woman after her death. It just kind of took him a few years to realize that meant he was gay for Gojyo. They worked it out eventually.

This timeline follows Gensomaden Saiyuki and waves cheerfully at the rest of canon as it veers left and never comes back. The pieces here are all from Hakkai's point of view, ranging from the month he spent nameless at Gojyo's to the end of Gensomaden Saiyuki and past that, to the resolution of everything and into a well-deserved retirement. There are some things I didn't get to write out before Hakkai went dormant, like The Mirror Incident and that one time the creepy bastard with the parasite youkai captured them and Hakkai learned how to play dead. Sorry about that. But hey, a decade and a half later and he's back!

This started out as a SuperBat hurt/comfort thing because I couldn't find any and I wanted to read some and SOMEONE refused to talk me out of writing it. I intended it to go from Bruce and Clark being so pale it hurts into them being flushed for each other because that's how humans are wired, but then Lois had other ideas, and I thought okay, they're going to have a threesome, and then...Selina...and...

I have no idea what the hell is going on anymore.

Liberties have been taken with the timeline, because people don't realize how OLD Bruce Wayne is. First season of S:TAS takes place during or after 3rd season of B:TAS, because Lana Lang mentions Batgirl. This tracks with Tim as Robin in the 3rd season of S:TAS, and the entirety of JL/JLU happens after S:TAS. But according to events in the first season of B:TAS, Bruce Wayne is somewhere between a minimum of about 26 and a maximum of about 38. He'd been Batman for at least 9 years as of season two, and Mask of the Phantasm has him hanging around the college before putting on the cowl, suggesting he's at least 20 when he starts for a minimum of almost 30 for season two. So I just...shuffled events around to make the S:TAS and JL/JLU timelines more concurrent with B:TAS. Deal with it.

The TL;DR is that Waller didn't scrap the Beyond Project, and she didn't stop with Warren and Mary McGinnis. Max is also a Wayne cuckoo laid in another man's nest. Terry finds out about his biological father and has an identity crisis so severe that it sends him to the hospital, which is where he is when Max realizes he's her half-brother. This went a little AU. And by a little, I mean the writers clearly dropped a few balls with all the plot threads that never got followed up on and I'm assuming they wrote Julia out for non-plot purposes or because they'd written her into a corner, and that Jennifer was meant to be her replacement. So I tweaked her character a little and played with the metaphysics and boy, things go a lot smoother when Duke has at least one friend who doesn't take him for granted. The main AU and the Pearson AU are both co-written with Echo Sea who writes the matching Duke.

Entries are from Julia's point of view, marked with season and episode information equivalent to the appropriate place on the timeline, which has been fiddled with to remove dramatic end-of-season tension or otherwise create a smoother flow of events. All entries including and after 'Porn Wife' can be assumed to have consensual sexual acts either briefly described or alluded to. After the events of Out In The Big Wide Woods, Gabriel awakens on...the same mountain trail he'd woken up on at the start of Out In The Big Wide Woods? No, he hasn't gone through those events yet, he just has all the memories of having lived through those events, and now he has to live through them again. For the first time. Fuck, that's confusing. If they didn't want me to write an AU where Anne's the host for Venom, they shouldn't have given her such amazing chemistry with the symbiote. There was a lot of sloppy writing in that movie, and as always, I've done my best to tighten it up. Ship end game is "poly tangle" featuring an asexual Dan Lewis, a very not-straight Eddie Brock, a Venom who's never been loved as an individual until now, and an Anne Weying who rolls with the weirdness just fine but struggles with cultural disapproval of being in a romantic relationship with two people at once.

Really, Knaack sort of fails at comprehending the definition of tragedy, or human emotions...and did he even play WC3? I don't think he did. Either that or he just didn't care that he was twisting Tyrande and Illidan in his blind fanboy lust for Malfurion. I mean really - Illidan was the one with the golden eyes, why was Malfurion the one getting visions?
