Half-demon and dragon stared uneasily at each other. The Blue was curled around the tower, head on a level with Tessa’s.

“Can I help you?” she asked finally.

“That depends,” the dragon chirped cheerfully. “Can Illidan come out and play?”

Tessa stared incredulously. “He’s the Lord of Outland. He doesn’t play.”

The dragon…pouted. There was no other word for it. “He can if he wants to.”

Kal’shan? There’s a dragon on the roof to see you.

A dra-? I’ll be right there.

Illidan stepped out of the Twisting Nether a few breaths later, face splitting into a broad grin as he saw the enormous blue head. “Azureon!”

The dragon, for once, did not look obliviously cheerful. “Illidan?” The blue-scaled form shrank to become a blue-haired kaldorei woman in a shimmery dress…who promptly found herself hugged by the Lord of Outland. “What…what happened to you?”

“A lot,” Illidan said dryly, releasing his former teacher. “Tell me, though – what happened to you? Suddenly, one day you just weren’t there.”

Azureon grimaced. “I got yanked back to the present. I wanted to say goodbye to you and your brother and Tyrande, but the Timeless One didn’t give me a chance.” She ginned ruefully. “I’m not much older or younger than you are, you know. I was still an egg when the Sundering happened. That’s why I was there in the first place.”

“That’s why you never visited. I wondered about that – I thought surely you would come by to chide me, if nothing else.” There was silence for a long moment. “We have much to catch up on,” Illidan continued finally, “but first – what brings you to Eldarath?”

“Well…” Azureon drew in a deep breath. “The Earth Warder took notice of a huge chunk of land from another world that somehow replaced a sick piece of land, and the Lifebinder confirmed that the whole area was getting better, and the Spellweaver was impressed by the raw magic used to do the transplant, and traced the signature to you, so he sent me to ask you about it!” She bounced slightly as she finished rattling everything off in one breath.

Tessa sidled closer to Illidan as he relaxed, and absently he placed his arm around her.

“Warchief Mikanna asked for my assistance in transplanting the orcs’ sacred mountain so that their elemental and ancestral spirits could heal the land once called Desolace.” He smiled fondly. “It was quite the challenge.”

“A beautiful piece of work,” Azureon agreed. “Didn’t I say you had a greater skill for the complex magics than you thought you did? I don’t think I could have done it better myself, and I spent a thousand years as the sole pupil of the Spellweaver!” Her expression turned wistful. “I asked about you when I came back, but your brother said you’d left the planet.”

“Come,” Illidan said gently, gesturing to the stairs. “Join us. We can catch up on the last ten thousand years.” At the dragon’s nod, Tessa led the way ad he gestured Azureon to follow as he brought up the rear.

“You never did show me your eyes,” the Blue chirped as they descended.
